I.    INTRODUCTION

Welcome to The Invoice Store.  The Invoice Store is an Invoicing, POS and 
Customer Tracking software product for the small business.  The following
features are part of the software:

II.   INSTALLATION

The Invoice Store requires any IBM PC compatible computer with a hard 
disk drive.  Prior to installation, verify that the CONFIG.SYS file meets
the following requirements:

		FILES=99
		BUFFERS=20

It is also highly recommended to have EMS or XMS memory installed.  Even
though the software will operate without this memory, it will operate
much slower than if EMS or XMS memory is installed.

Refer to your operating system manual if any of the above is unfamiliar
to the user.

To run The Invoice Store, enter INV at the DOS prompt.


The following environment variable commands are supported:

   SET INV=NETWORK        Forces the program to operate under the network
                          mode.  Please note:  The program automatically
                          senses the existence of a network during normal
                          operation.  This feature is only needed if the
                          program cannot detect the network.

   SET INV=COLOR          Forces the program to operate in color mode.
 
   SET INV=MONO           Forces the program to operate in monochrome mode.

   SET INV=E:0            Forces EMS mode to be disabled.




The environment variable commands may be combined.  For example,

   SET INV=NETWORK;MONO;E:0



If your computer has EMS/XMS memory, it will attempt to operate in protected
mode, otherwise it will operate in real mode.  If you wish to force the
software to operate in real mode, set the following environment variable:

       SET BLINKER=/DT20000   


         




III.   ONLINE HELP

Online Help is available from inside the program.  It may be activated by
pressing ALT-H from anywhere in the program.  The registered version
includes a printed manual that explains every feature in detail.





IV.   HARDWARE SUPPORTED

The following hardware is supported:

   * Modem                Any modem connected to a COM port.
   * Cash Drawer          Cash Drawers connected to the serial or parallel port      
   * Printers	          Laser, Dot Matrix, or Receipt Printers.  Must be
		          connected to the parallel port.
   * Bar Code Scanner     Keyboard Wedge Device only,





V.    OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

A brief word document (MANUAL.DOC) has been included to show the basic
operations of The Invoice Store software.

A printed instruction book is included with the registered version of The
Invoice Store software to explain every feature in detail.





VI.   REGISTERATION

The Invoice Store is not a free program.  You are free to evaluate the 
program.  The unregistered version has some invoicing limitations.
If you decide that you wish to use The Invoice Store in your
place of business, please order a copy of the software.  Once ordered, a
registered version of The Invoice Store will be sent to you.  You would also
be entitled to a unlimited free support at no extra cost.

VII.  EXTERNAL MODULES

The Credit Card Store is an external module that is available to interface
with The Invoice Store software.  This module will connect a VeriFone Credit
Card terminal to The Invoice Store software.  When a transaction is made on
the terminal, all credit card information is automatically transmitted to
The Invoice Store software.  The price for this module is $39.95.
